Heroes in faith

In the book of Hebrews chapter 11, the writer speaks in a masterly way about the Heroes of the Faith, who have existed.

Others experienced vituperation and scourging, and even chains and prisons. 37 They were stoned, sawed, tempted, killed by the sword; they went from here to there covered with skins of sheep and goats; destitute, afflicted, mistreated 38 (of whom the world was not worthy), wandering through deserts and mountains, through caves and caverns of the earth. 39 And all these, having obtained approval by their faith, did not receive the promise, 40 because God had provided something better for us, so that they would not be made perfect without us.

These brothers made their faith a bulwark, to face situations that affected their context that disconcerted them and did not let them sleep safely.

Reading each of the heroes' feats, which they faced with little or no possibility, we realize that there were common denominators in them that prompted them to put their faith into action.

1.- There was a difficult problem to solve.

2.- The response to the situation ran high risks.

3.-They had the opportunity to be part of the solution.

4.- They did not think about their own benefit.

5. That action earned them the approval of their faith.

6.- None of them received their promise, to keep our own welfare.

7.- Their faith was perfected in the result of their actions.

But this form of heroism is transcendent until today, there are people whose actions are transcendent and are anonymous heroes many times. People who are praying hard, people who are constantly worried, people who with sweat and effort are donating so that many people in the trash dump of San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa can have education, healthcare, food and clothing.

The truth is that we all somehow need a hero. A hero who responds to the need of others, a hero who is not thinking about what he could win, but what other people will, heroes who take away their comfort, heroes who encourage, heroes who believe in the cause and are part of the solution.

People like you that during 2017, were a support for Grace School.

For us, for the children in the dumpster, for families who see an opportunity and feel hope in the education of their children, you are also heroes of the Faith. Heroes without a cape and public recognition.

But the same book in Chapter 6:10 says:

Because God is not unfair enough to forget your work and the love you have shown towards his name, having served, and still serving the saints.

And for us this is our prayer for our heroes:

Hebrews 6:11 11 But we desire that each one of you show the same request until the end, to reach the full security of hope.

God bless our heroes, may God bless you, your family and your finances.

In Him,
